IoT Battery Intelligence: Turning Telemetry into Commercial Decisions
Converting connected-device data into insight for sales, service, and product strategy
The Client · A global stored energy provider

Overview
A global stored energy provider engaged Taller to build the analytical surface that turned its battery-fleet telemetry into a customer-facing product.
The Problem
The client had accumulated years of operational telemetry from a deployed battery fleet with no analytical surface to make it usable for the customers running those fleets or for the internal product teams setting strategy. At that volume, raw telemetry was too slow to query directly for anything interactive, which was what kept the data out of reach of both audiences.
The Solution
Taller built the data-intelligence front end on a major technology vendor’s big-data stack, integrating SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS, a tool for pre-calculating summaries of large datasets) with Angular dashboards. IoT data products succeed or fail on the choices made at the analytical-model layer: SSAS let the team pre-compute the aggregations that mattered (energy throughput by site, charging-cycle distribution by battery model, fleet-wide capacity use by hour of day) so the front end could serve them instantly instead of querying raw telemetry every time. The result was a decision surface rather than a chart gallery: each visualization was tied to an operational action — rebalance the fleet, reconfigure a battery group, re-plan a charging schedule.
The Impact
The platform gave the client access to actionable intelligence across its battery fleet. It also opened new revenue opportunities through battery-intelligence services, offered as part of the client’s broader stored-energy business.
